Obituary for Sister Gwendolyn "Bootsie" Travick

Gwendolyn affectionally known as Bootsie, was born May 14, 1947, to Homer Travick and Ruth Bohles (Menifee) in Cleveland, Ohio. Gwendolyn received her formal education through the Cleveland Public School System. She also attended Bryant and Stratton Business College. Gwendolyn accepted Christ at the early age of 11 and was baptized on April 5 1959 at Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio under the leadership of Dr. R.L. Fuller. Gwendolyn served on the Youth and Young Adult Usher Board and sang in the Teenage Choir know as the Angelic Choir.
In 1982 Sister Gwen united with Omega Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop B.G. Finney where she served in the Senior Choir and on the Nurses Guild. Attending Sunday school was her favorite. Sister Gwen was a faithful member until her health began to fail.
Gwendolyn was employed with the Cleveland Public Schools system as a Lunch-Aid and H&R Block as a Receptionist. She also was a Caregiver to her four God Daughters and many more children during her lifetime.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and often taking bus trips to the Amish country, and listening to all genres of music.

Gwendolyn Travick was truly blessed. She is proceeded in death by her mother Ruth M. Bohles (Menifee), father Homer Travick , sister Janet Marie Hunter, and son Robert Earl Travick. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, Life-long Companion Alfred Hagins, 2 sons. Pastor Darryl Anthony Bohles (Pamela), Kevin Bernard Travick Sr., (Robin), 5 Brothers, Edward R. Bohles Jr. (Bernice), of Texas, Leland E. Bohles (Linda), Richard D. Bohles (Marie), Ricky Travick, Bernard Travick, and Mitchell Travick all of Cleveland, Ohio. 13 Grandchildren LaVar, Willis, Kyia, KevinJr. Danzell, Carmen, Camelida, Joseph, Dwayne, Derrick, Djaun, Dasia, Patrick,. 30 great-grand children and life long loving and devoted friends Ann Cook and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends..
